Types of User Research
- Contextual Interview (Interview and Observation) – Users are interviewed and observed while in the environment the user is performs a task or use a product
- Ethnography (Direct observation) – Users are directly observed within their real environment to provide a description of the user and the culture
- Naturalistic Observation – Users are observed, in their natural settings, using a product
- User interviews (Semi-structure) – Users are asked questions about topics or interaction with a product
- Usability Studies – A product is evaluated with a representative user
- Surveys – Users are provided a questionnaire
